PA66 BASF A3EG6 Resin

PA66 BASF A3EG6 Resin

Material Introduction: PA66 BASF A3EG6 (Germany BASF) is a high‑performance 30% glass‑fiber‑reinforced PA66 engineering plastic. It features high strength, high rigidity, excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability, together with good electrical‑insulation performance and HB‑grade flame retardancy. Its inherent water‑absorption property will affect dimensional stability and partial performances (large performance difference between dry and conditioned state); strict drying is mandatory before processing.

Main Applications

Electronic‑electrical industry: Electrical components, electronic insulating parts, connectors, relay housings and insulation materials for electrical wires.

Automotive industry: Engine hoods, gears, bearings, oil pipelines, oil reservoirs and automotive electronic components.

Mechanical parts / Industrial fittings: Mechanical components, housings, pump‑valve parts, precision structural parts, bearing cages and industrial gears.

Other fields: Equipment & mechanical components and structural housings for electrical appliances.

Injection Molding Parameters

Processing Item Recommended Range / Condition Notes & Explanations
Drying Treatment Hot‑air drying at 85 ℃; vacuum‑dry at 105 ℃ for 12 h when moisture>0.2%. Critical operation. Control moisture content ≤0.2% to avoid hydrolysis‑induced bubbles, silver streaks and mechanical‑property deterioration. Use immediately after drying or seal and keep warm properly.
Melt Temperature 260‑290℃; 275‑280℃ for glass‑fiber reinforced grades. Avoid temperature>300 ℃ to prevent material degradation.
Mold Temperature Recommended 80 ℃. Thin‑wall parts molded below 40 ℃ may require annealing for geometric stability. 80‑100 ℃ mold temperature delivers better crystallinity and mechanical performance. Mold temperature affects crystallinity and physical properties of finished parts.
Injection Pressure 750‑1250 bar. Adjust per product & mold design.
Injection Speed High‑speed injection (moderately reduced for reinforced grades). Fast filling facilitates melt flow.
Runner & Gate Gate bore ≥0.5*t (t = part wall thickness). Hot‑runner gate size shall be smaller than conventional runner. Minimum diameter for submarine gate:0.75 mm. Nylon solidifies rapidly; gate location and size are critical for filling.
Screw Speed 30‑60 rpm. Avoid excessive shear heat generation.
Cooling Time 20‑90 s. Depends on part wall thickness.
